BlackBerry 2FA uses your device as second-factor of authentication to your organization’s resources. This is done by prompting you for confirmation on your device when you attempt to access one of these resources. Depending on how your administrator configured BlackBerry 2FA, you may also be asked to provide an additional password on your device.
Preauthentication is a BlackBerry 2FA feature. It allows you to authenticate to your organization’s resources for a predetermined period without being prompted for confirmation or a password on your device. You can use the preauthentication feature when you don't have access to your device or you are out of mobile coverage and can only connect one device to a wireless network or hotspot.
